Teesside Silversmith is the trading name of Jon Price, a Silversmith and Artist Jeweller based in Teesside, North East England, and provides services in a variety of areas in Silversmithing, Workshops and Course- or Class-based Teaching in addition to online facilities for other artists and students in the Teesside and North East areas.

OUR SILVERSMITHING AND JEWELLERY MAKING CLASSES IN SUNDERLAND

Our Sunderland Silversmithing and Jewellery Making class starts the new academic year and autumn term on 19th September 2011 at the Gilley Law Community Centre, just off the A690 and down from the Somerfield/McDonalds roundabout and runs from 6.30-9.00pm. The next term after will start in September 2011, and enrolment is now available, so make enquiries now to get your name on the list!

Our classes are suitable for total beginners in the subject.

We are planning to try again for Tuesday and/or Wednesday classes for the coming September 2011 term. There are still places available so please contact us to ensure your place, or enrol online here.

The cost of the classes from September are £125.00 per term, materials will are not included in this price and will be available to purchase from the Tutor on the night. Tools and equipment are all available through a set of class equipment. A structured curriculum will introduce you to the subject and help you to gain knowledge on how to make your own jewellery using a variety of different techniques.

Handmade Jewellery / Art Jewellery

Inspired by historical pieces of jewellery, and archaeological finds, my works include a variety of unique and creative works for sale, or made to order to your specifications. You can see a selection of my work by viewing the Jewellery section of my site.

Jewellery in one form or another has been around for as long as mankind, and not always in the typically recognised form of today's precious metals and gemstones. It can be purely for aesthetics such as a pendant or bracelet, or perform a function in the form of a hairpin or brooch for clothes.

Historical jewellery forms a large part of my inspiration, with my favourite pieces originating in the early Saxon, Viking and Medieval periods. Often, I will create a reproduction of a find, or use a find to form the basis for a piece while still deviating enough to make the new item unique.

Jewellery Repairs & Broken Gold/Silver Jewellery

Do you have any interesting broken pieces of Gold or Silver jewellery or coins, or just want a piece of jewellery repairing, re-polishing or restoring to its former glory? Have you got an item that you would like some additional precious metal decoration to be applied? Has a favourite piece of your jewellery broken, and been left in the drawer for months?

Repairs undertaken to some broken pieces of jewellery, or scrap value paid for hallmarked pieces if you don't want it! Why not contact me and see what I can offer?

I am equipped and qualified to provide specialist one-off or curriculum-based workshops to meet your needs, and have a successful background in teaching Silversmithing and Jewellery Making in the North-East.
